The Delaware
Creek Lift Station and 15-inch Wastewater Line Project involved replacing an
older, deteriorated, and undersized lift station with 1,570 feet of 15-inch
gravity line and a new larger and expandable 800 gpm lift station pumping
11,600 feet directly to the Burnet WWTP. Construction included a valve
vault, covered control panel, fencing, electrical, and related site work.
The lift station and 15-inch wastewater line are located in the Burnet
Delaware Springs Golf Course and along Delaware Creek upstream of U.S.
Highway 281. The expanded capacity of the 15-inch gravity sewer and new
Delaware Creek Lift Station enable Burnet to serve the residential growth
occurring in the Delaware Springs Ranch subdivision around the golf course. TCE ensured that care was taken to maintain the natural beauty, integrity
and functionality of the riparian zones, golf course grounds, and cart paths
while creating a natural hiking trail along Delaware Creek within the gravity
line easement. Space and piping for a third, future pump enables Burnet a
low cost expansion option as growth continues in the recreational
subdivision.
The old deteriorated
lift station was demolished, the existing lift station influent line was
connected to the new larger 15-inch gravity line, and the new, larger,
attractive submersible pump lift station was constructed at a lower
elevation father downstream. The result is an increase in both the potential
service area and system capacity for the future while maintaining the quality
of the golf course facilities and adding an appealing hiking trail along
Delaware Creek.
