| This project
involved construction of a 50,000 gallon per day extended aeration activated
sludge wastewater treatment plant, 3,250 linear feet of six-inch effluent
line and 3,000 linear feet of SDR 26 pressure sewer line. A pre-cast
concrete treatment unit consisting of a 44,600 gallon aeration tank, 18,500
gallon reaeration tank, 22,000 gallon clarifier, chlorine contact chamber
and sludge holding tank were installed on a structural slab designed by
Thonhoff Consulting Engineers. Included in the project scope were all
required piping interconnections, electrical infrastructure, telemetry, and
site work.
Design
constraints included minimizing construction impact due to the construction
of the treatment plant inside the Matagorda Bay Nature Park and the project
site being located approximately seven feet below the 100-year flood
elevation. |
